Alessio received his BSc in Biology in 2017 and his MSc in Biology applied to Biomedical Sciences in 2020 from the University of Pisa, Italy. After his post-graduate research fellowship at the University of Pisa, he achieved his current position as a PhD student in Molecular Medicine at the Department of Biology, University of Pisa, in 2020. He joined the Pete Williams Lab in 2022 as a visiting PhD student and his studies will focus on testing the neuroprotective effects of pyrroloquinoline quinone in glaucoma using an array of metabolic and neurobiology techniques.
