Eirini Kokkali

Eirini received her BSc in Optometry from the Technological Educational Institute of Athens in 2016 and her MSc in Investigative Ophthalmology and Vision Sciences from the University of Manchester in 2017. She is currently studying for a PhD in the laboratory of Prof. James Morgan in the School of Optometry and Vision Sciences, Cardiff University. Eirini’s work focuses on the effect of systemic inflammation on retinal ganglion cells of glaucomatous retina. Eirini is visiting the Pete Williams lab to receive further education on animal models of glaucoma and to take part in research focused on microglial activation throughout the visual pathway in both a spatial and temporal fashion.
