Elizabeth Kastanaki

Elizabeth received her BSc in Biological Sciences from Arizona State University and MSc in Molecular Plant Biology and Biotechnology from the University of Crete, Greece. She completed her PhD in January 2020 at the Institute of Molecular Plant Biology-ETH, Zurich, working on the molecular mechanisms governing vascular patterning in Arabidopsis thaliana. Her initial postdoctoral training at ETH, Zurich aimed at understanding the signaling pathways regulating vascular formation in the Arabidopsis thaliana embryo. Elizabeth joined the Pete Williams Lab in 2021 to explore the mechanisms controlling retinal ganglion cell degeneration and neuroinflammation in glaucoma.
